IMPORTANT CLINIC UPDATE

CHANGES TO OUR BILLING POLICY 2026 

Dear Patients,

UPDATE: Following review of Medicare consultation rebates, as of September 2026 out-of-pocket consultation fees (non bulk-billed) will be universally capped at $30.00.

We offer on-the-spot rebates if a physical debit card is present at the time of payment.

BULK-BILLING Criteria:

(excludes vaccination, some minor surgery costs)

• Consultation costs for any children UNDER 16 YEARS of age.
• Anyone with a valid Health Care, or Pension Concession Card

Hallets Medical Services has commenced Mixed Billing (out-of-pocket fees may apply - see below) applicable to all consultations, and procedures effective now

Health Care, and Pension Concession Card holders continue to be fully bulk-billed.  

Consultations for children under the age of 16 years with valid Medicare details are bulk-billed.  

Private billing has been necessitated by our need to continue to provide quality services.   

Unfortunately, the prevailing Medicare rebates are inadequate for the clinic to sustain the quality of services due to inflation pressures.  

Hallets Medical Services will endeavour to keep out of pocket costs to a minimum without compromising on patient care.

CANCELLATION POLICY 

3rd SEPTEMBER 2026, forward

A CANCELLATION FEE will apply if notice of cancellation is not given at least 3 hours before the scheduled appointment time, equivalent to a standard consultation ($40.00).

This measure has been introduced as a response to significant numbers of abandoned appointments, inconveniencing other patients who also require appointments on the day.
